Yes, 1063 ohms would pass the test.  The thing is that in many cases the
thing will fail only when it gets hot, so you may still have a bad sensor.

Quick question and hoping for a quick answer ;-) I'm using my multi meter
and I get a reading of 1063 ohms. The book manual says 1000 ohms. Is this
still within tolerance ?
