Hello today i began the process of replacing my failed ignition switch.
I have the dash cover off and the knee plate off and from underneath, i can see the switch and Iv'e detached the harness from the switch. Now i just cant see how to slide that switch off the back end of the ignition cylinder. I am also wondering at this point if i needed to even remove the top panel from the dash? When it looks like all the work is going to be done from underneath.
Also the Long piece of wood trim that goes from the ignition all the way to the front passenger door, (3 feet) i have not removed that. It appears that 2 of the screws that hold it on are under glove box housing and id have to take some of the glove box apart to get to them. Does this piece come off?
the part i ordered today and i should have it by tuesday. I hope its the switch that went bad and nothing more serious. Its been acting up for a while now and finally No Start.........
please any help
Thanks.
