The "stickum" is what was initially the foam backing to the fabric,
and I'm guessing that it wasn't that color(maybe tan?) when it was
put in but has become that from the glue/heat/time etc..... The
"Cheeto" goo will in fact get on everything, and as Kent said, will
stain/stick to everything. Saab headliners had the same "Cheeto"
effect. Not sure on the V8, but a 80's classic Saab 900 took 3.5
yards of fabric to do everything(which included both front doors), so
I'm guessing 2 yards should do the V8?(that's a question) Both my 5-
speed and the low mileage Lago are starting to sag, and I noticed
last week that a small area on my 04 Chevy 2500HD has come
loose.....It's foam is still intact, and fresh, and hoping to try and
iron/maybe lightly glue it back up. ...I don't ever really look up,
and don't really care that my headliner is actually padded.....Maybe
foam backed fabric is just wrong?.....There's an idea. Anyway, I
intend to take a wire wheel to that Cheeto mess, and redo the
headliner so I can just remove/install as it appears I've got 2 to
do.....Yeah.
On that note, I had trouble getting the sun visors off when parting
the grey car(broke 1).....Anyone got a tip on removal?....Good luck,
and let us know how it went.....Tom
