[V8] not such great news today

Well today i called the shop and my guy was not 100 satisfied with the way this engine was running. Me being a novice didnt really notice. All i noticed was a little smoke. 1 of my cylinders is getting good fuel good spark and very bad compression. Here we go again. He thinks its only 1 valve on 1 cylinder. He's going to try some additive in  the oil as well as the gasoline and just plain drive it and hope it starts seating properly. Im a little dissapointed. Worst cas i think we'd have to pull 1 head and flip her over and fix 1 f...king valve. I dont think that is too cheap. Does anyone have any suggestions for me. Ive got parts up the ying yang from the other two engines. Maybe i can do it myself.
