Yes on the "rod supposed to be attached to the actuator".  That rod  
falling down is the reason I was given the black car.  The elderly  
woman was on the highway, and that loose rod got jammed up and caused  
the throttle to stick, making her ride the brakes till the front hubs  
were "on fire"......I already put my spare into that car, and it  
works fine now.  Sounds like you've already found your problem...Tom
