[V8] Dizzy Hall sensor, knock sensors

Easy way to check the hall sender for proper function (though does not
guarantee to show intermittent issues). With it plugged in, ignition turned
on. should see 12V+ on one of the end wires (usually red), ground on the
other end (usually brown). Should see 5V on the center wire, or ground. As
you turn the engine over by hand, you will see it change from 5v to ground,
and back. Pulsating square waveform DC, basically.

If it's doing this, I wonder about the timing of it? How did you do the TB,
and has this been an issue since the TB was done?

On a side note, I once unplugged the hall sender on my V8Q. It's a stock '91
3.6 Auto. Very little difference in the way it ran. Next to none, to be
honest. If you really apid attention, you noticed a split second delay in
throttle response compared with plugged in, that's about all. However, if
it's shorting to + or ground, that may produce more drastic results.

Knock sensors, check Ebay. Paid about $30 each for two or three shipped.
Cheap Chinese ones, but have had good results so far.

I have a spare dizzy as well, but would like to hang onto it just in case,
you know. I'll check and see if I might still have two spares, but I'm
doubtful.

HTH,
Tony
