Hey Kevin, those 2 blue seals are for the distributor mount plate
under the distributor, and that last one is for the wierd little "cam
inspection" plate or whatever that little circular plate near/below
the passenger distributor is called. I recall telling you to get
those. The vacuum hose that loops over the intake(if that's what you
mean) is supposed to be pliable, as is the one on the FPR, but might
be baked into a new compound by now. There's a breather hose on the
rear of drivers head that goes to intake that's commonly collapsed/
rotten and possibly NLA, but if it's a heater hose and collapsed,
that doesn't sound "normal".
Blower motor....I've been avoiding this on the 5-speed since I got it
by pushing on/sliding small wedges into the upper brush. I went up
to the ski area recently, and coming down with wet gear in the car,
had to have the window cracked and the sunroof vent open(snowing) to
vent enough to see.....I messed with it a few weeks ago, and this
time bent the top of the brush holder down carefully with some
needlenose/screwdriver/foreceps and is working great since....I'm
considering stuffing a plug of epoxy putty down into that to keep
pressure on that spring and make it so that if it does stop, then I'm
forced to finally buy a new fan and do it proper, I just don't want
to spend $150 until I absolutely have to. I've got a spare fan that
works fine, but if I go to the trouble to put it in, I'll probably
put in a new one.
If you haven't already removed your pump, you might want to just do
the filter/tuneup first and see what happens....Never know, maybe
that filter is original, and really plugged, and the pump is just
working really hard. I've still never had to replace a pump in all
these cars in 11 yrs or so. In my old Saabs, (which all have a
distinctive hum to the pump), a bad check valve on top can make it
louder.....
The stock rotors were glued on so you crush them with a channellock/
vicegrip to remove them. I red-loctited the one's on the Lago when I
did them years ago(from dealer), and pretty sure the one's on the 5-
speed are black and set screw and came with the car. You can do a
resistance test on the plug wires just to verify they are ok. I'd do
both distributors/valve covers/filter and see how it runs before
condemning the pump unless you can test pump pressure/flow.....good
luck....Tom
