[V8] New Years Greetings!

I have four still on the road, though not driven daily. Lately the 1990 and
the 91 5-spd are driven daily. The 93 is DD capable except for a delay in
fixing the steering rack mount area on the driver side inner fender well.
The 94 is still patiently waiting a timing belt.

In regard to the 91 5psd... It runs very poorly, though somewhat better
since it has been driven daily again for a couple of weeks. There's
something that changes as it warms up that causes it to really run like
crap.

It's kind of like with the oxygen sensor where it isn't reference by the ecu
to set mixture until the car warms a bit. But I've unplugged the oxs and
still notice a distinct point where something changes and the engine runs
poorly. It's a sudden change, as if something switches on or off. I tested
knock sensors to see if one was flaking when warm. I thought about a coil
going bad as it warms. I've unplugged the temp sensor so the ecu runs at a
default value and that doesn't seem to be it.

My IC is flaky but the problem doesn't seem to be relevant to that. The
condition seems to be an extreme lean running condition. When the engine is
fully warmed, it does much better. The only time it runs mostly decently is
at full throttle which is when it goes to full rich.

I've been trying to think of what might change state as the engine warms
from full cold, either by design or temp-related failure. Any ideas are
appreciated.

Subject: [V8] New Years Greetings!

New Years Greetings to All! I would like to know how many V8s are
still on the road. I am about to cobble together my damaged '93 and
parts from the list, still need the plastic lenses all around and
various parts from the front.

Nationwide has been a great letdown. Instead of fixing my 5 mph
accident damage, they Totaled my V8 for $4500. "Total" Scam for 6
weeks. They generated bogus values of $2000. and then $3000. from
rural dealers that turned out to be fraudulent~ from CCC1, an
experian company. Then, when I went to Audi dealers, who allowed the
'93 was worth about $5000. or more for my improvements. Nationwide
then challenged the dealers, saying they had $2000 to $3000.
evaluations, so b, one changed from $5500. to $2500. under the
pressure. So, keep up the values thru straw sales!

Finally, I bought a '92 Avant A6. Good old German engineering again,
places the cabin air intake where our V8s have the recess drains to
the outside next to the right fender. You guessed it, the water gets
around the old rubber gasket on the bottom of the air filter tray and
goes down the 4" airway into the right foot well! Anyone know how to
reach the rear right side bolt on the filter tray under the
windshield so I can apply caulk round the hole? ~Happy Happy! Bob
