[V8] Tries to die at idle

I posted this before (maybe on QW) but my V8 doesn't want to idle. I have to press on the throttle to keep it running. It just started doing that and had before idled well. I checked the rubber line that goes from the FPR down into the intake and it looks ok. I will likely end up replacing the FPR but want to try all of the usual FREE stuff before I spend more money.  I know my fuel filter is old and should be replaced....and my fuel pump is pretty noisy. But would either of those cause the idle to suddenly go bad?

I also blew the fuse for the cigarette lighter around the same time. Are there any relays that effect the idle?
