Lago car is the only one left that hasn't had those replaced with nice
stainless Hex machine screws....I just loosen/tighten with my
thumb....once you get those out with whatever needlenose/vicegrip/
tapping with a hammer/screwdriver, just lube them up and use your
thumb...I've been doing it for 10 yrs now on Lago...I've got the
replacements, but just haven't bothered, and there's something to be
said for not looking for a tool when your thumb is easier.
I take strut support off almost everytime I have the hood up....habit
Take Ed's advice and spray that brush while also whacking the brush
with something wooden/insulated. I'd use a non-flammable contact
cleaner first. If that doesn't do it, try pressing directly on the
spring(in the brush) with a screwdriver(making sure that you have
blower set to HI and ignition is on). If it's the old style brush,
it's got a slit in the middle of the top holding the spring in. I cut
a small ceramic tile wedge(plastic) so I could fit it into that slit
and press lightly to press on that brush spring....been working for
yrs now off and on. If that doesn't do anything, and you've verified
your fuse is good, verify that there's actually voltage @ blower. If
not it could be the blower control unit on top of AC box, but my only
experience with that was always HI...otherwise, maybe it's dead.

If you do both rear distributor seals/AND the plate seals underneath/
and that odd access plate just below/beside the passenger distributor,
you'll get rid of most of the major oil leaks I've had that drip right
on the pipe. If you need to do the timing belt anytime soon, the
main distributor seals(not plate seals) come with Blau's kit. If it's
coming from anywhere under the front covers, then? Many people have
had leaks from the upper timing covers in the front, and some of those
are from the previous timing belt person not doing the cam plate?
(whatever that plate is called that the cam seals are in).....
Check drivers door boot for speaker wiring/etc before assuming its the
amps.....Good luck...Tom
