[V8] Thinking about an A6....

I'm a little late responding, but,

I work on plenty of them, I'd recommend getting a standard non-turbo V6 one
first, then the 4.2 V8, then the turbo V6, then last the turbo V8. This is
in reference to having a reasonable to maintain car, cost wise.

The torque converters go out (too much torque for them) The turbo's can go
out, and there are a lot of places for coolant to leak (BTFT on a lot of
cars, not cheap on most). The N/A V6's are definately less costly to
maintain.

There is a reason the resale is low on these cars, maint is $$$$. IF you
DIY, though, they aren't too bad, but plan on spending some time under the
hood.
