I would have to agree here with the general consensus on modifying a top of the line german sports car from the nineties. I use to do all sorts of things to a couple of Sciroccos that i owned in my twenties. Not only did i lose the money in the parts, i dramatically *decreased* the value of the cars. And probably the performance too. I put in extra gauges and fog lites, sunroof etc.....

Today i own a 1990 v8 4.2 and i try to keep it as original as possible. Its a hobby. The engineers that designed these cars know far better than most people on this list and better than me for sure.
I way too often see a car on Ebay or the like that has been hacked and i just shake my head. It RUINS the car. No one is going to want to buy it. And it most likely wont perform better when you re done ruining it. I was so mad one time after seeing what some kid did to a quattro that he had for sale on ebay that i had to send him a message. It said something like this. " Just a little advice for you, These cars are worth a lot more money if you DONT mess with them, the folks who designed them know how to build better cars than you" .... I cant put his response on the list because it had a lot of dirty words in it.
The only thing that is not orig in my car is the radio. Oh yeah and the 4.2 i had put in...... lol
As far as lowering it, god i took my car out in the snow and i wish it had MORE clearance under her. I got stuck because the snow was so deep that the car was riding up on top of the snow, and the four tires actually lifted up off the ground.
I wouldnt touch a car that has been hacked like that these days.
