Possible explanation, there were early 1990 V8Q's with early builds, 
IIRC (Ingo?) on the list had a 1990 V8Q with a build date of  03/89.  My
V8Q #1 has a build of 05/89.  

There are also those USA spec and sold 1990 5speeds which were sold as
1990 model year, yet did not appear on any Audi dealers USA parts fiche
(don't know if they've since been added to the digital fiche.)
