[V8] Market prices are on the rise!

We are the masters of our own fate. You would think (hope) that people on this list would be the ones who best appreciate the Audi V8 Quattro ... obviously and unfortunately it is not the case ...
Funny, I got a ration of crap for calling BS on a 1978 Audi Fox GTI (a car that I owned at one time and gave away to someone who shipped it to Europe) which was not in the best of shape was offered for sale for something like $7K! A factory 5-speed V8Q in the US is far and away more rare, and people think reasonable prices for examples in better shape are overpriced at less than half that price.
I'm not saying that they should sell for $17K either ... but why be so down on someone who happens to think their car is worth that much? What's the saying ... "a rising tide lifts all boats" ?

For reference, Recently was looking at an 06 Corvette C6 w/120k on it, for
a 12k. I mean, love the V8Q, but for 17k, you can buy a used 996.
Seriously. Little bit silly. A 5spd V8Q is a cool car, but not for nearly
20 grand, at 180k miles. But, I think we all know that.
