[V8] V8 Timing parts and others

I have multiple problems with the V8. Recently the starter gave up the ghost and I was not sure what happened so I checked the belt it seems in good shape but is loooose. I have never dealt with a V8 timing personally until now so I can assume given all the other timing belts I have replaced having a loose belt is bad? So these are the current problems I am encountering Starter, Timing belt, Heater core , and the blower motor. In addition even though it works and does not leak the steering pump or rack or hydraulic system groans and stutters. Soooo... After much thought I have almost decided to remedy the above concerns but I am having trouble finding non Chinese parts. I have also been looking at newer A8 S8 cars online and in my area Southern California I can get something decent, ten or less years old for under $10,000. I figure the above parts will cost over a $1000. So are German or equivalent parts available? My experience with Meyle has not been a good one have not tried Uro but these are what is most readily available. Should I take the plunge if I can get some decent parts? Would my money be better spent on a newer Audi. What are the newer A8s like to maintain? Best Regards, George
