Hey Sam, thanks for that....The pics of the piece removed will be helpful for my welding buddy.  Like yours(and many others), mine had cracked near both bolts, so that plate I made did nothing to help that.  I was planning on making a new plate out of 1/8" steel(after the cracks were welded), then making a horseshoe out of same plate to go around outside, and weld that whole thing together.  My tack welds are mostly intact, it just sheared the perimiter thru the wheelwell.  Thankfully, I've got no rust.  I was fearful of removing the "mount" as I'd like it to go back exactly where it was, and since mine's cracked all around the fender(not the spot welds).  I even considered using those square holes to bolt thru with a plate on both sides for added support.  The thing was designed by Tonka of Germany.....Ha.  Tom
