A fools errand.

Some of you may already know that I was the one who bought the black on black V8 5speed on BAT.

Overall it’s in good shape with the usual issues. I think the wire loom in the driver’s door is breaking apart

because of the intermittent electrical problems.

But there’s one unanticipated issue. About 2 years ago I fell off a ladder and fractured my left leg.

It was a plateau fracture off the tibia where it meets up with the knee.

It took about a year for it to heal where I could bend and flex without any pain.

That brings me to my problem; when I push in the clutch on the 5 speed I get sever pain in that knee and tibia.

So I’ve decided to do an automatic conversion. I’ve located a low mileage,

110,000 mile trany that was rebuilt at 95,000 miles for $750.00.

I’m looking to do some of the prep work myself and have a local shop do the actual

remove and install because I don’t have a lift. The automatic ECU comes with the used trany so I’m good there.

I figured I could just leave the extra pedal or hack saw it off. Any advice, links to write ups would be appreciated.

I’ll be sure to take lots of pictures.

Thanks in advance,

Bob

Is everyone's seat belt on? I want to try something.
