The car should make you happy. Your V8 used to do that, but it doesn’t anymore. You could throw money at it, but the next problem that arises with the difficult task of sourcing parts lingers in you mind. The car captured your heart, but its issues are making you lose your mind.  Time to move on to something newer, almost as nice, but without the fear of leaving you stranded on a Maine back road out of cellphone range (which you will no longer have to carry).
