Well, sadly enough I've gone beyond my A8/S8 fantasies although there
were many of those once upon a time.
Just now I'm really mostly inclined to a Cadillac CTS4 sport wagon. I'm
watching and I see them more and more in the $12-15,000 range with 80K
and fewer miles. Unhappily they're all a thousand miles from here so
just running out to look them over isn't easy. I'm in no hurry.
I hate to say it but I think the German's and I have parted company for
good. The complete brake job on the truck, from calipers and rotors to
ALL the brake lines was an expensive $1200...or so I though. On the
other hand I did discuss it with the wrench and he reminded me what it
cost to do the same job on the V8, and i well remember how much it was
going to cost that time I thought I'd replace the UFO's with something
else. It was fun doing those things back when my cash flow was
adjustable and an ongoing gusher form time to time, but those days were
back then and now is now.
So all the reviews of the CTS4 sport wagon make it seem more "German"
than 'merican station wagoney. Now I need to find one sitting on a lot
somewhere withitn 250 miles so I can go see one and actually sit in it.
I have a trip to Massachusetts coming up in April so maybe that will be
the time to go Caddy shopping.
Roger
