1. The A/C temp switch? Is this the switch that turns the A/C system on? If so, I believe its in the A/C control head, the thing the slide levers come out of on the dash.
2. I bet you have a one-speed fan. Brown is usally a ground wire, so it appears you have ground and one power wire, so one-speed. Non-A/C models have a one-speed fan.
3. The radiator thermoswitch is in the lower left corner (engine-side) of the radiator. Three prongs = two-speed fan, two prongs = one-speed fan system.
4. There is no fuse off of the battery. I rewired mine and put the fuse there. Its the last fuse in the fuse block on the left. Its a 30 Amp.
5. Shoud be there. On the car its screwed into the high (smaller) pressure A/C line near the emissions sticker (at least on my '85).

Thanks for the replies. In looking at the Jetta wiring and the Bentley
diagram I now see I've got problems and a couple more questions:
1 Where is the a/c temp switch located?
2 My radiator fan has two connections; brn and red w/blk stripe. How
can I tell if its a two speed fan? How do I identify an a/c radiator
thermo switch?
3 The main heater/ a/c fuse off the battery is missing on mine.
4 I don't see a hi or lo pressure cutout switch anywhere on the wiring
diagram.
Thanks,
Ken
