Someone on here sent me CAD drawings of the required tools. I haven't made
them yet, but I could dig them up and send them to you, if you are up to
some
fabrication.

Subject: [Audi-VW-Diesels] TDI timing belt tools

Now that we're seeing a few "older" TDI's, some are actually off
warranty and one has shown up at the independent shop I deal with. The
owner wants the timing belt changed, and the shop folks have the how-to
information from alldata and Bentley, but lack the tools.
As expected, area dealers wish to retain a monopoly on service, so
genuine VW tools are out of reach. Is anyone aware of a cheaper aftermarket
source for the tools necessary to change TDI timing belts, and any other
TDI specialty tools?
My first reaction was to inform the owner that nothing could be done and
that he'd have to sell the car cheap, but the shop owner promised dire
consequences if I tried that stunt. :)
    TIA,
    Scott Kair
