I've towed a car a lot of miles over the years using various methods.
Personally I would buck up the extra $15 for the dolly as opposed to the 6 x
12 trailer. (Assuming the 6 x 12 is a single axle) My first choice would
be the tandem axle car trailer, but I understand you are trying to get by as
inexpensive as possible. A single axle trailer with a car on it could get
into a very bad whip situation under certain circumstances, and cause you to
lose control of everything and cause a bad accident. Having experienced
extreme whip, believe me when I say it is not worth it to save a few bucks.
Also, in this day of litigation and lawsuits the fact that you misrepresent
to U Haul the intended purpose for renting the trailer could come back to
haunt you in the event of an accident.
Just my opinion based on some bad experiences :^)
