I'm planning on installing a vw diesel in a kit car that I've built. It is =
very light and very aerodynamic. I want to gear it as high as possible to p=
ush fuel economy to the extreme. I'm trying to find out what rpms the diese=
l turns at hwy speed (60 mph) and fuel economy.

I've found a used 1.6 NA but may switch to something else if I think I have=
 a better chance at accomplishing what I want to do.

I've been talking to transmission shops about building a special trans. (5 =
or 6 spd)
If I lay out that kind of bucks I'd like some hard facts ahead of time. Tor=
que & HP
graphs would be most helpful. I seem to only be able to find info on the ne=
w TDI.
I haven't ruled out a TDI but could save a couple grand if a older diesel w=
ill work.
