An automatic transmission can be installed in the
Passat. :)

This is typical of VW radios. Excellent cars, but
really crappy radios. I have two "Hindenberg" radios,
one each from my 91 and 92 Jettas, plus a third I
bought from Ebay. All junk. And to think that the boys
at the dealership were trying to sell me the
AM/FM/Cassette in my "new" 91 Jetta for ONLY $440.00.
Needless to say, I had them pull it and deduct the
$440, then put in a Sony at a quarter of the price.
You may wish to do the same.

Unfortunately, my beloved '92 ECOdiesel was rear-ended
by a Spaniard cab driver, and his screwy insurance
company "claims" it's "totalled." I plan to fight the
good fight, but in the event I'm unsuccessful, I'm
looking for a replacement Jetta, perhaps an A3,
possibly a '98 TDI. We'll see...
