Hi Loren,

Yes, its A1 so it uses Allen (hex type). I think trying to use an L would
be a pain. The Craftsman was the tool I was using; just thought there
might be some better tool.

Another thought I have is since the solenoid seems to work fine when not
wired to starter motor (I suspect  sticking electrical contacts under
load), I could just add a generic solenoid relay with a pushbutton switch
and wire it to the starter. The idea would be to actuate the starter
solenoid by itself and then pushbutton to separately send juice to the
starter motor.  I already do this extra relay trick to manually control
the glow plugs.
