I think those bolts are like the CV joint bolts, only bigger. They have a 12
point inside spline somewhat like a TORX only with more teeth, sometimes
called a "tripple square". I bought a set of 4 sizes at my FLAPS, Canadian
tire for a few bucks.
So far I have only used 21 of them, the smallest on the CV bolts, and #3 on
the starter bolts. They are about 3" long and fit into a 1/2" socket.
