[Vwdiesel] converting a TDI to mechanical fuel pump?

Can anyone help me with information on doing this?
Has anyone currently on the list done this?
Does anyone know someone who has or know of a good website on the topic?

I am trying to find out which pump can be modified, how it is modified, or where to
purchase one that has already been modified.

I'm also interested in what other modifications to the engine are required.
