  I figured that would come sooner or later.  The advantage I have is a
good friend has the software and cable on his laptop at his repair
shop.  :)  I will probably get one though.  For the moment, I'll send
Dad down to let him check it out.  He hasn't had much opportunity
to try it so I'm sure he'll be glad to have and chance to try it out
again.  :)

  So I gather that a 97 Passat will not let me just unplug the EGR?
Does it require the diode fool-the-computer system or something
else?  I haven't had time but I know that disconnecting that sucker
is on Dad's list.
