Bentley says the O ring under the plastic gizmo is a PITN and MUST be
replaced every time you take it out.

Buy a half-dozen at a plumbimg shop (cheap there) and keep in the glove
compartment along with the spare glow plug fuses.

I had a lot of air-in-fuel-line problem on my A3 until I replaced the O ring
TWICE.

Bad bit of engineering.

Also, when replacing the filter, a new O ring Should come with it, but the
parts jerk will try to sell it to you separately.
