Hi Duncan;
In Canada we had the German built Rabbit models for 1980, they
were available with a "C" model for Custom and an "L" model for
Deluxe. The main differences were trim levels and standard
equipment. I used to have a 1978 Rabbit L diesel 4 speed and then
a 1980 Rabbit L 5 speed. I also had a 1984 Rabbit L turbo diesel 5
speed which was the US built version which we had in Canada from
1981 to 1984.
