[Vwdiesel] What does the L stand for?

my 84 rabbit (unknown trim level, i assume C now) is completely stripped,
sans A/C. When I got the car, it had no radio in it and I think the
Original owner just never bought one. No vent windows, vinyl panels as
stated, nothing covering the metal in the doors (not anymore though) and the
only chrome on the car is on the door handles and the rain gutters,
everyhting else is just black rubber. Just some info, because everyone else
is doing it!

in addition, i thought i'd yell IT"S DONE!! I'm the one that flung a rabbit
into a telephone pole, having all 3 passengers walk away, and worked very
hard to get it running again! Special thanks goes out to Anton for his
help, as well as many others who offered. After all body work, I jumped in
it and drove from Rochester, NY to Pontiac, MI with NO Alignment!!
(although it may need a small adjustment) These cars are amazing, and after
being in that accident I have much more confidence in it's ability to keep
its occupants safe.

I'm back in the saddle again!
