Scott,
What year is it?  Those little diesel pickups are getting hard to find.  A
friend of mine has an '80 king cab and an '81 regular cab, both diesels.
They are great little trucks.  I think he gets an average of 40 mpg give or
take a few.

Judging by his '81, rust is definately a problem.  Although here in central
IL, rust is ALWAYS a problem when winter comes around.

As far as longevity goes, they are just as reliable as any VW made diesel,
if not better.  The engines are made by Nissan and I believe they are 2.2
liter, or somwhere close to that.  They are N/A and have a decent bit of
power for a 4-cyl. diesel.
