[Vwdiesel] what fluid to use in power steering?

I asked our local FLAPS for some replacement fluid for our 92 Cabrio. The
Rack has been leaking and I got a replacement rack and the fluid was to fill
the new unit. The Bentley manual says I must use VW G002000 mineral oil, no
substitutes, no mixing. The FLAPS provided "Pentosin CHF7.1" mineral oil as
meeting that VW #. When I returned home I found that we had been using
"Pentosin CHF 11S" synthetic oil. It is forbidden to mix these oils. The
FLAPS says that both oils bear the same VW # in her catalog, just with an A
and S suffix that it is very confusing and her catalog shows the 7.1 as
correct for the 92 Cabrio. She added that if I am going to Remove and Flush
the system why not use the cheaper (by about 30%) 7.1 oil v/s the expensive
synthetic.

Which oil is really the "correct" oil to use? Maybe we used the wrong oil
in the past and that is why the rack is leaking? Can we successfully flush
and use the correct oil upon rack replacement or will seals be damaged?
Arrgh! Maybe I should just get the stuff from the dealer and blame them if
something goes wrong! BTW, the rack cost ~$300!
