[Vwdiesel] Diesel dies....???

My diesel Bunny pickup decided it won't run right.  Cruising along at highw=
ay speeds and then pedal to the metal to pass someone and then it's like it=
 can't get any fuel.  I just gradually slows down until it's pull off and s=
top time.  The speed of the pickup brings fuel up briefly and it runs fine =
again for awhile, but eventually checks out.  I can feel it not having any =
power in the accelerator pedal as I'm driving, but how to "wake it up???"  =
 I've changed the fuel filter, timing is fine, checked that the fuel gap wa=
sn't bloking air entake, diesel additive to disperse any water in the fuel,=
  air filter isn't especially dirty.  The engine has about 120,000 miles or=
 less on it.  Suggestions please? Thanks!
