Hi Dennis,
When I had that engine in an Audi 4000, the first half winter that I had it,
I used 15W-40 and starting was a little sluggish. Neighbors laughed that I
wouldn't get it started when it got colder. I switched to 10W-30 diesel
rated oil (at that time CD) and had about the only car that started that
winter without a jump. It was funny to jump big "American V8" cars with my
little Audi. With todays oils, I would go with any 5W-XX or 0W-XX oil that
is diesel rated. I tend to stay away from Syntec since they lowered their
quality without lowering their price a few years ago. In my area, Mobil 1
is often on sale.
