  My wife's sister's husband had one, and I got to drive it a few times. It
was my very first exposure to a passenger-car diesel, even. As I recall, it
wasn't particularly overpowered but  was mated to an automatic which I'm
sure sapped more power than a manual would have. It had no boost gauge, just
a few LEDs to indicate relative boost level. I think they got about 40 mpg
with it until the day it tossed a rod through the block. It sure helps if
you keep lube oil in the crankcase, you know.  :-((  I would have bought it
and fixed it if parts were readily available, which they weren't. Bummer. We
need a better variety of diesels around here!
