[Vwdiesel] a quick CV boot question

I have been trying for parts of two days to get the clip on the small
end of the inboard CV boot.  Thinking about it, does that one take a
clip or not?   The other axle doesn't have one and the boot seems to be
content to stay in place.  If it's OK, I'm going to save myself some
primal scream therapy and just let it go.  I just thought I'd check
since the kit came with a clip.
