[Vwdiesel] Propane system

There is an expanded pilot project going on here to investigate the
efficiency of natural gas vehicles- there is a CNG refilling station much
like you would see in a propane station, except higher pressures, bigger
hoses, stronger tanks etc. I guess it is actually more along the lines of a
commercial venture at this point, the government utility Sask Energy sells
the liquified stuff to interested parties if they convert their fleet
vehicles, and will erect a refill station if you have enough demand. (think
school busses etc)
Line pressures vary from area to area- from a dozen or so ounces to eighty
pounds, but regardless you still need to liquefy the gas to carry any amount
of fuel. The gaseous volume is too great. The local stuff uses tiny pumps
that run off 110v that compress and cool the mix of mostly methane to a
liquid, then store enough for a fill, planning that the unit is capable of
making another tank before you use it up.
Snow around the upper edges of the valley..... hmph. Was trying to get the
D6 cat's blade to cut through six inches of frozen ground today, which is
currently under five inches snow. Blech.
