Hi gang,Quick question. On the driver's end of the fuel injection pump on =
a 1983 VW Turbodiesel, there are two outlets. The lower outlet is clearly =
for the return fuel line. The upper outlet with a banjo fitting has a smal=
l soft rubber hose attached to it and is about 4" long. What is this for a=
nd where does it go? I am trying to get this engine started. Have checke=
d fuel delivery - OK, air purged out of lines - OK, air filter changed, ti=
ming right on the mark with micrometer, and starter speed OK. Guess the la=
st thing is compression, but don't have a compression gauge to fit the dies=
el. So I am guessing overheated, warped head along with rings that have lo=
st their tension. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks, E.J.
