Heres what I would do...

Get a strip of sheet metal about the same kind of proportions as a steel rule
Make it about 12 to18 inches long perhaps an inch or 2 wide....Source? a strip
of old car body or washing machine body? Get the idea?... Then bend over each
end say 1/2 inch and flatten....so ends are pointing back towards each
other... Bend whole strip round valve cover so folded ends tuck up under vc
lip sited so you can post metal bar /wooden stake under and lever Warming
engine 1st may help ...good luck
