Actually, that was my idea.
I was thinking of using the straight six cummins found in 89-92 dodge trucks. I
think it was Loren who noted that these engines are HEAVY, and would possibly
require stronger shocks and front end. These engines put out something like 160
hp and 490 ft-lbs of torque! These engines are not cheap, but are worth every
penny from what I've read!
I saw a late 70's dodge diesel on ebay once, which had a mitsubishi 6cyl diesel
in it. He didn't say if it was factory, but I thought it might have been.
My friend just bought an 89 ford E350 van with a 7.3l international diesel. The
engine seems to be overkill for what he wants it for. Soon he will be have that
beast running on used vegetable oil!
