Actually there is an even bigger problem with the Cummins into a
van...engine height.  When the cummins first became available in the new
style Dodge truck, I aske it they were going to offer it in their vans
because then I might be interested.  Salesperson walked me over to the
trucks where a cummins and a V8 were side by side.  "notice the difference?"
he asked me.  I immediately noted that the cummins truck was SIGNIFICANTLY
higher off of the ground than the V8.  Turns out that the engine is very
tall from top to bottom and in order to get the necessary clearance the
truck had to be jacked up alot.  VAn would not allow that much jacking up.
