its a pain in the but, but puilling the rack was the ticket.

the 4 bolts that are in the bottom frame member do turn. they are captivated
in the sub frame: they won't fall out.

thre are little humps on the bottom of the sub-frame that align things into
position.
once you get over those, you have great access to do/undo everything.

it really helps to have another pair of hands to do it.
