[Vwdiesel] Re: stuck injector shield

I had one of those cars once, soot in the injector threads and a stuck heat
shield, I tried every trick and tool possible (I worked at the VW dealer at
the time, it was a trade in), then gave up and asked for help-take a torch
and heat the shield carefully (don't want to melt anything), fill a bottle
of water and attach a hose to it that you can squeeze with pliers to
regulate flow, let a few drops of water hit the heatshield while hot and it
will break free. This happens from dirty engines and PO not changing the
shields, look closely at the threads for the injector, any cracks?
