[Vwdiesel] My '89 keeps stalling?

Hello all,

Hoping someone can give me an idea of what might be happening with my '89
1.6 NA Jetta. All of a sudden when I start it up if I give it any more
pedal than a good fast idle it will die. If I just let it idle for 8
minutes or so until it warms up it is ok. If I do stall it it will not
even crank over, it is as if one or more cylinders have more fuel than the
starter can compress. If I let it sit for 10 or 15 minutes it will start
right up and idle great as long as I don't give it to much fuel until it
has warmed. The glow plugs (Beru) are only a few months old and I think
working ok. I have tested that they are getting power, I have not pulled
them but have put an ammeter in line with a jumper lead to them in pairs
and each pair pulls about 26 amps so they appear to be working. Plus it has
been pretty hot out lately and I wouldn't expect it to act like this even
if there was a bad plug, but ??. Could a bad injector be delivering to
much fuel until it warms up? Sure would appreciate any thoughts.

Thanks,

Bart
