That funnel (a.k.a. Toilet Bowl Flange) is that provides the movement necessary to allow the engine to move w/o breaking the
exhaust downpipe off.  If you want to retain that feature, have a new downpipe welded onto the bottom of that flange.  You may
want to check all the motor mounts, if badly worn or broken, they can allow the engine to move too much and that may have been
the cause of the break.
