[Vwdiesel] AC Brackets

Ok, what I have (I think) is a cast bracket bolted to the motor. As far
as I can tell there is a hole that holds the bottom of the steel ac
bracket and also the top of an aluminum casting that is one of the ps
pump brackets. This aluminum casting is also held by two bolts from the
bottom of the car.

Are you saying that the ac bracket attaches in another spot?

Once it did this, the
slotted holes wouldn't line up with the ac
compressor.>>>

I just went thru this w/ '85 Jetta TD #2 a few days
ago. After attaching the lower half of the bracket to
the upper half, the slotted holes would not line up w/
the bolt holes on the compressor. There are two holes
on the lower bracket, on that the bolt goes thru to
attach it to the upper bracket, and another that holds
an aluminum bracket that attaches to the engine block.
I used the wrong hole, and the aluminum bracket was
missing. I would have not figured it out if I did not
have '85 Jetta TD #1 to look at as a reference.
