You could pretty much rule out the impeller if it was an OEM one- the
impeller on those is big and cast iron.  A lot of aftermarket ones use a
depressing little pressed tin child's toy in place of the cast iron one. As
if it will work the same for as long. Lots of rust, look for plugging,
that's the most logical place to start.
