Playing with injectors , is more fun than setting your wife's panties on fire.

Normally I was driving a 1962 1.6 L NA two door Rabbit. , ----But then
I got that turbo I swore I would never have. (I blame it on Scott Kair). That
freed up the 1982 for experiments with all matters engine. ( experiments = FUN)
I was born an experimenter and will dies as such.
Discovered that a set of NEW nozzles makes a world of difference to those old
VW's. If you set the pressure by "hagar feel" you can look at sray-pattern if
you have an ordinary greasegun (that's how I started years ago) .
Is atomization of spray the most important issue ? does not look like it . Looks like
injector pressure setting affects timing. Case history : 1882 Rabbit 300 000 Km
unknown history. Compression unknown. One lazy cylinder known.
This Rabbit was going like stink no smoke (hillbilly tuned to perfection). Thinking
that bringing the Injectors up to like new pressure specs would be a good idea I did just
that.----- LOL ---- could not even be driven up behind the house for parking.Every time I
hit the pedal it quit.Started and quit started and quit. Lowered pressure all is fine.

Here are some tidbits of info (Bentley) smallest shim avilable is 1 mm up to 1.95 mm
0.05 mm smallest step. One small step by man, on great leap in pressure. Can we make
a shim in a pinch ? Mark Shepherd can --stanley utility knife blade = 15-20 thou. Use
only ordinary washers in a pinch.Have a feeling those VW thin wave spring washers may work.
Next experiment , will be testing how low a pressure is ok for driving - will it be 100 bar
75 bar or what ? . stay tuned. Hagar.

PS: I am watching NY4 Tv right now --- Scott Kair keep pushing.
