[Vwdiesel] alternator adjustments

  Check your + connections between the alternator and the battery as well 
as grounding of the alternator.  Often a dull glow of the alt light is due to 
a 
poor connection.  Then you look at a bad reg/brushes or diodes.  Diodes 
usually go from connecting jumper cables backwards.  :-o
  PITA bolts on the AC compressor and alt are standard equipment.  ;-)
